(1) cockroach appearance:
cockroach body is flat, dark brown, and usually of medium size. Small head, able to move. Antennae long filamentous, compound eye developed. The wing is flat, the front wing is Coleoptera, the back wing is membranous, and the front and back wings are basically equal, covering the back of the abdomen; some species are wingless.
(2) the appearance characteristics of different species of cockroaches:
●Periplaneta Americana (Periplaneta americana) is 30-50 mm long (the longest is 2 inches) and light reddish brown.
●Blattella Germanica (L. Germanica) is light brown with two black stripes in the anterior thoracic region. The female lays eggs in pod 3 days after mating and carries it for about 20 days. Small in size, about 12 mm (less than 0.5 inch) long.
●Supella supellectilium is similar to a German cockroach but smaller. The male's wings are well developed, the body color is slightly lighter than that of the female, and the female's wings are short and non-functional. Both sexes have two pale stripes running across their backs.
●the body of the oriental cockroach (Blatta orientalis) is ovoid, black or dark brown, glossy, and 25-30 mm in length. The life cycle is similar to the American cockroach, the male's wings are short and well-developed, while the female's wings degenerate.
